2018 Nissan Altima 3.5 SL

The 2018 Nissan Altima 3.5 SL is the last model year to feature the V6 engine making it a special version of the Altima before Nissan transitioned to a fully four-cylinder lineup. Plus: 1. THE CVT IS TUNED DIFFERENTLY FOR THE V6 Unlike the 2.5L version the Xtronic CVT in the 3.5 SL is programmed for quicker "shift" simulations to handle the extra power and provide a sportier feel. 2. IT HAS AN ADAPTIVE STEERING SYSTEM The hydraulic-electric power steering adjusts based on speed making it lighter at low speeds for easier parking and firmer at higher speeds for better stability. 3. THE 3.5 SL TRIM HAS MORE SOUNDPROOFING THAN LOWER TRIMS Nissan added extra insulation and thicker glass to reduce road and engine noise making it noticeably quieter than the 2.5L models. 5. IT FEATURES ACTIVE UNDERSTEER CONTROL Even though it's a front-wheel-drive sedan Nissan included Active Understeer Control which applies slight braking to the inside front wheel during sharp turns to improve cornering. 6. THE START SYSTEM WORKS FROM OVER 100 FEET AWAY The factory remote start has a longer range than many competitors letting you start the car and warm it up or cooling down before getting in. 7. THE LED HEADLIGHTS HAVE AN AUTO-LEVELING FEATURE It comes with LED headlights that automatically adjust their angle based on vehicle load to prevent glare for other drivers. 8. IT COMES WITH A PREMIUM BOSE SOUND SYSTEM The 9-speaker Bose audio system was exclusive to the SL trims offering better bass response and clarity than the base audio setup. 9. THE SPORT MODE SIMULATES GEAR CHANGES Even though it has a CVT Sport Mode3 mimics the feel of a traditional automatic transmission by holding simulated gear ratios longer for a sportier response. 10. IT HAS A HEATED STEERING WHEEL AND MEMORY SEATS The 3.5 SL includes a heated steering wheel which wasn't available on lower trims. It also has driver's seat memory settings allowing different drivers to save their seat positions.
